At WSP our Climate Change, Resilience and Sustainability team are providing decarbonization analysis services on existing building portfolios and partnering closely with other building energy analysts and modelers as well as our diverse teams of mechanical and electrical engineers within WSP.

We have an opportunity for an Energy and Carbon Advisor to join our team in either Toronto (GTA), ON, Ottawa, ON, Kitchener, ON, Montreal, QC or Vancouver, BC with opportunities to relocate as your career grows and thrives here.

You’ll have a great opportunity to enhance and advance your career as part of a rapidly growing team of experts providing world-class projects for public and private sector clients. A day in the life:

  • You’ll be managing and delivering building portfolio decarbonization studies for public and private clients with a focus on strategy development, engagement, data management and technical advice
  • You’ll support business development activities, including contributing to proposals and developing scopes of work for our existing clients
  • You will manage project budget, schedule, and quality in alignment with project requirements while also liaising with client stakeholders and WSP’s technical experts.
  • You’ll support our team of analysts delivering decarbonization audits, net zero transition plans and deep retrofit feasibility studies to grow their understanding of building energy systems, energy reduction opportunities, business cases and asset and portfolio planning
  • You will resolve project issues through the identification of scope or budget risk and implementing mitigation measures.

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

  • A university/college degree in Mechanical Engineering, or have similar qualifications combined with relevant experience
  • A holistic understanding of energy flows, energy modelling or mechanical/electrical engineering, decarbonization strategies, and GHG analysis for the built environment, in particular, how they interface with portfolio capital planning processes and Federal, Provincial and Municipal policy;
  • Excellent communication skills -- you’re able to easily articulate ideas and build relationships with peers and clients through presentations and other forms of engagement. The ability to write clearly and concisely is particularly valuable, and something we would love to hear about in your application.
  • Intermediate experience (five or more years) of relevant experience in energy audits, energy modelling, business case development, and project management;
  • Other designations conferred by Industry associations (CEM, PMP or others) are considered valuable.
  • You’re eligible for Federal government security clearance.
