About Green Venture: We are an established and impactful non-profit environmental organization that works to empower Hamiltonians to implement greener practices in their homes and communities to make our city a climate champion. We operate out of EcoHouse – an 1850s farmhouse in east Hamilton with 2 acres of gardens and sustainable living demonstrations. Our team is focused on making positive environmental action happen every day and we use creativity, practical tools, and demonstrating environmental action to engage our community to achieve our mission.
About the Position: We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead Green Venture’s home energy social enterprise operations, including Energuide services and energy efficiency education and community engagement. You will oversee and implement existing programs and services and strategize new initiatives, plan and coordinate client relationship management, impact measurement, program evaluation, reporting, and budgeting, and secure grants and develop partnerships to support this work. To achieve this, you will lead a team of Registered Energy Advisors, Program Coordinator/Assistants, and customer service staff. Your work will enable Green Venture to achieve a key strategic objective of empowering Hamiltonians to take action to make their day to day lives greener to reduce carbon emissions.
Requirements and Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and motivated leader, effective business manager, outstanding communicator, detail-oriented customer relations supervisor, and collaborative team player. You will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in program or business management, including demonstrated strong skills in budgeting, evaluation, process improvement, partnership development, and strong organization, problem-solving and communication skills. You will have expertise in the field of energy policy, climate change, building science, renewable energy, green building standards, and net-zero technologies, demonstrated by a post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in fields such as environmental sciences, sustainability, energy management or conducting energy assessments and advising on retrofit opportunities.
