Who you are and what you’ll do

Mappedin is a SaaS company with some big clients and exciting growth opportunities. That means we have a lot of critical cloud infrastructure, and we need another DevOps person to help us scale our infrastructure and development processes.

Here’s the bullet point list of requirements you probably jumped straight to:

• You have 3+ years of work experience with Kubernetes and cloud providers
• You understand the challenges of a rapidly growing company and can steer DevOps practices to unleash customer value
• You are a programmer at heart. You know at least one programming language well and perhaps even worked as a software engineer before.
• You care about developer productivity and best practices as much as service health and performance

Plus you should be interested in learning about, or already experienced with:

• Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools
• Azure or other cloud providers
• Obsess over reliability, stability and scalability
• Infrastructure security and SOC2 compliance

That’s it? Yes. You should know SOME cloud providers, but it would be difficult to have Kubernetes experience without that. Which one it is we are not too worried about.

What are some challenges?

Mappedin moves fast and we sometimes change directions. We can’t always wait for all the information before we try something. If you want us to guarantee exactly what you’ll be working on three months from now, we can’t give you that. On the other hand, there is a lot of high value work to do, and it won’t be boring.

There is a lot of discovery work involved as we frequently do things that are ahead of current technology. Mappedin provides customers with SDKs, applications and APIs on multiple platforms so the development teams have a very wide variety of needs and requirements for smooth operations.

Behind the scenes

We run an agile development process designed to give our developers as much uninterrupted development time as possible. Most days the only meeting you’re looking at is the morning standup.

We use a variety of technology and tools that currently include TypeScript, React, Jest, Node.js, Postgres, Rust, Kafka, MongoDB, and Docker.

There’s a lot of trust here at Mappedin. We are a REMOTE company. If you’re local, there will probably be a few days a week when you can expect other people to be in the office, but this role could also be fully remote. We work flexible hours, have a flexible vacation policy and work to provide the hardware or office equipment you require to unleash your potential. We will do what it takes to get things done if we said we would do it. We stay curious, challenge opinions, take risks, and learn from mistakes. We’re competitive and we like to win together.
