Project Manager – Capacity Building Activities
Venor is proud to partner with ReCover on their search for an experienced Project Manager to manage their capacity building work. This is a hybrid position and can be based anywhere in Nova Scotia.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Project Management Office (“PMO”) Lead, the Project Manager plays a crucial role in taking deep retrofit projects from the pre-development stage to implementation by managing the Capacity Building Activities and addressing barriers in communities across Atlantic Canada. As the Project Manager for Capacity Building Activities, you will work closely with Indigenous, Inuit, and African Nova Scotia communities, to understand their needs to build programs that will help support and accelerate the development of deep retrofits. You will collaborate with the various teams and industry partners developing the Capacity Building programs to manage all aspects of multiple ongoing projects. This includes continuous planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and strategically evaluating long term success to make informed decisions that will ensure all projects remain aligned with key deliverables and exceed stakeholder requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to PMO: Ensure the PMO has timely and accurate information as needed to ensure senior managers and other stakeholders have information to make strategic decisions.
- Portfolio Management: Successfully manage multiple ongoing projects at various different stages by identifying priorities to ensure each project stays on track.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess risk within the project and provide solutions for mitigating the risk.
- Project Oversight: Develop a plan to deliver a successful project by monitoring the budget, timelines, scope, Key Performance Indicators, and deliverables, to align with project goals and requirements of the stakeholders. Raise a flag with appropriate team members when issues are known. Be accountable for project delivery.
- Manage Budgets & Forecasts: Understand the details of the budgets, continuously measure the actuals to budget and be able to forecast the project costs to completion, highlight cost issues in a timely manner and provide solutions to cost / budget/ forecast stressors
- Resource Scheduling: Ensure appropriate resourcing and identify resourcing challenges before they become an issue. Support team members to ensure they have the tools and resources needed to complete project tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Project Coordination: Organize and facilitate team meetings, ensuring open communication between the Senior Project Manager, subcontractors, other relevant partners, as well as team members.
- Project Documentation: Manage and maintain key project documents including plans, budgets, schedules, scope statements and required reporting documentation.
- Team Player – Support your team members and foster a collaborative environment with them as well as others contributing to your project
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance for billing, bookkeeping, and general project management support.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-7 years of relevant project management experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or a relevant combination of education and experience;
- Project management certification such as CAPM or PMP is highly desirable;
- A background in, or understanding of, Deep Energy Retrofits is considered an asset;
- Expert level knowledge with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite is required;
- Extensive experience managing multiple ongoing projects at once;
- Proven experience in stakeholder consultation;
- Strong communication and active listening skills to build and maintain relationships with various communities;
- Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills;
- Be proactive as well as adaptable to change;
- Be able to foster collaboration as well as work independently
