Pivot Strategic Consulting is a social mission-based business focused on solving environmental problems through strategic partnerships and public policy. We represent several companies and associations in the clean energy sector, as well as Indigenous organizations and environmental non-governmental organizations.
Neighbourhood Energy Solutions (NES) is an exciting new initiative of Pivot Strategic that establishes neighbourhood-based buyers’ pools to make it easier for residents to install high-quality rooftop solar, heat pumps, energy storage and other clean energy systems at reasonable prices.
Position Overview
The Energy Outreach Manager is a founding member of the team responsible for implementing a neighbourhood engagement plan to communicate with residents the benefits of clean energy retrofits. The work plan includes helping develop a new website, a social media outreach strategy, facilitating and acting as a resource person at community meetings, responding to residents’ questions about clean energy options, and researching market factors and barriers. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for scaling up clean energy solutions, and strong written, verbal and digital communications skills.
Responsibilities:
• Develop materials for community volunteers to communicate with their neighbours about clean energy options and the opportunity to save money and protect the environment by retrofitting their homes
• Outreach to community residents who can help pull together buyers pools
• Support the development and maintenance of a website
• Manage social media strategy to facilitate neighbourhood outreach
• Manage customer data and track what residents need to move to the next step in the retrofit process
• Conduct research on clean energy technology options and market barriers
• Identify solutions to emerging issues, with support from others on the team
Desired Skills and Experience
• A people person, with strong written and verbal communication skills – comfortable speaking in front of groups, and hosting online meetings
• Experience in areas such as customer engagement or engagement organizing • Experience with CRM systems
• Knowledge of residential clean energy technologies
• Creative and strategic thinker, with strong judgement and problem-solving skills • Web design skills are an asset
• Experience working with CRMs an asset
